3D graphics is all about one thing - performance. The latest 3-D applications (mostly games) come loaded with multiple objects and large, photo-realistic textures. This demands lots of processing power. This is where 3D Graphics Cards come in. There are now a large number of such cards on the market - rarely in the past have customers had so much choice for just a gaming add-on. It seems that every manufacturer of video cards came up with their own slightly different solution for improving 3D performance. This leaves the consumer with far too many cards to choose from - giving the consumer the dilemma of choosing the right one - one that will survive the upcoming standard battle with the other cards on the market.. The performance of the wide range of cards can be very different and the prices are not necessarily in accordance with what the card can deliver. Comparing each individual 3D card only in terms of hardware performances would be futile, because you could buy the fastest 3D card, and if there were no games supporting it, you would deeply regret your purchase. Software support is therefore an important factor in choosing the right card.
So we have chosen to compare the following three cards, Apocalypse 3Dx, Winfast 3D L2300 and Intense 3D Pro 2200S - the first two are reasonably priced whereas the last one is far too expensive for your average gamer.
